Can you introduce yourself and explain your role as a brand ambassador for L'Oréal Paris?
My name is Soo Joo Park. I've had the honor of being a spokeswoman for L'Oréal Paris since 2015. It's been an incredible journey representing a brand that values innovation and beauty as much as I do.
What does innovation mean to you, especially in the realms of fashion and music?
To me, innovation signifies the heartbeat of creativity, blending the latest in technology and science to push boundaries. Whether it’s discovering the science behind beauty products or incorporating AI in music, I’m all about exploring new territories authentically, without letting fear hold me back.
Throughout your career in the fashion and beauty industry, how have you observed the evolution of science?
Working with L'Oréal Paris, I've seen firsthand the meticulous effort that goes into product development. The brand’s dedication to scientific research, without compromising on safety or environmental impact, really stands out. It’s fascinating to see how science is leveraged to enhance beauty products, making them effective and safe for everyone.
L'Oréal Paris emphasizes scientific research in skincare. How does this align with your personal approach to beauty and wellness?
My personal journey towards understanding myself better, through therapeutic work and self-help, mirrors the scientific process in beauty. It's about digging deeper, understanding the why behind things. Science and beauty, to me, are parallel paths towards discovering authenticity and confidence.
Looking into the future, what are your hopes for science and its impact on beauty?
I’m hopeful that brands like L'Oréal Paris will continue to make science approachable and understandable for everyone. It’s about democratizing the knowledge behind skincare innovations, like hyaluronic acid or niacinamide, and blending it with aesthetics. This not only helps people make informed choices but also appreciates the science behind beauty.
Reflecting on personal skincare struggles, such as acne, how do you view the role of accessible scientific knowledge in addressing these issues?
I believe that the wealth of information now available is a double-edged sword. While we have access to more knowledge than ever, discerning what’s truly beneficial is key. It’s about finding the right information and treatments that work, which is now more possible than ever thanks to brands bringing science to the forefront of beauty.
